When I bought my condo eight months ago, one of the few drawbacks was that it didn’t come with a washer and a dryer. All the other common household appliances were included and I loved the place, so I went ahead and bought it. I figured that I could just go to the laundromat for a few months, save up some cash and buy the appliances when I was more stable.
Unfortunately, due to the absense of venting in the building where I purchased, I discovered that I needed to get a ventless washer and dryer instead of a regular set. What’s the difference? A ventelss dryer uses water to create heat and doesn’t need to expel air through a vent like standard dryers. The other difference? I discovered that it will cost me somewhere around two thousand dollars…a heck of a lot more than a regular washer and dryer.
I have a lot more exciting things I would rather spend two thousand dollars on currently than a washer and dryer and am continuing to put it off.
The lesson: when purchasing a home or condo, try to get all of the appliances rolled into the mortgage. Otherwise you’re going to be paying a lot more out of pocket.

Don’t buy one at this point.
I roughly spend between 10 and 20 dollars a month on laundry, and that even sounds high.
I’m sure you’re doing the math. How much is that a year, then?
Sure, it’s less convenient, but it’ll save you money on purchasing and on the energy bill.
Only other drawback would be when you’re ready to sell the place. Might be a slight deterrent.

Finance your appliances for 15-30 years? don’t think so!
