Huntington Park location: new Columbus Clippers’ baseball stadium
Posted Sat 31 Mar 2007 by Brad under ColumbusOne of the main reasons I love where I live is that the new Huntington Park for the Columbus Clippers will be built next door soon. It will bring a lot of people to the area over the next few years, and be exciting to watch being built. The levelling of the area is (was?) supposed to start in March with actual construction beginning in August 2007.
Here a some renditions from a couple of viewpoints

The stadium will open up into the intersection of Niel Ave and Nationwide Avenue. As the stadium is being built, all of the surrounding infrastructure is going to upgraded also. This means new roads brick sidewalks, upgraded sewer system, and underground power lines.

Nationwide basically owns the Arena District, so it’s no surprise that all the items labeled on the map are owned by the corporation (except the North Market). My condo is at the Buggyworks buildings just to the left of the new ballpark. In the above map, it looks like one big building, but it’s actually seperated, which can be seen in the google map below.

The Buggyworks is yellow, the LC pavilion is in blue, Nationwide Arena in green, and the North Bank Condos in purple. This map hasn’t been updated in a while as the North Bank Condos are pretty far along, and the Buggyworks first phase (west building) has been completed.
It’s a sharp difference right now between what is East of Neil Ave…
…and what is west.
Here’s farther down with the Buggyworks on the right.
Kind of dreary, but just turn right down the alley and….

You mean, what is East of Neil Ave, and West of Neil Ave… not North and South of it.

I think your purple block is Burnham Square and a construction laydown area. You missed North Bank Condos by a block.
